REVIEW Olay Total Effects 7 in One Gentle Day Cream SPF 15
Another drugstore gem, guys!
I am so loving this product from Olay. It's the Olay Total Effects 7-in-One Gentle Day Cream with SPF 15!
So I was strolling around a mall last week and as always, I went to Watsons and apparently Olay had this 30% off sale for all products. Even though I have never been a loyal customer for Olay, I did buy one of their sunscreen products last year and I was pretty satisfied with it. So I thought why not try something else from Olay?
I always used sunscreen with SPF 50 over the past two years because Brisbane's sunlight is tremendous :") but since I am back in Indonesia and I don't really stay outside because well, I (and most people) use car to travel everywhere, we don't really go by feet so we are not really exposed to sunlight, I think SPF 50 is too much.
So I was thinking of buying a sunscreen with lower SPF. And as I searched through the Olay section, I found this fragrance-free day cream that comes with SPF 15. Interesting.
I bought it for Rp 110.000,00 because of the discount (YEAY) and I tried using it the next day (I only use this as day cream, I don't use it as night cream because it has SPF).
The texture of this product is creamy. Way creamier than I thought. But as I massaged the product into my skin, it is absorbed quickly, leaving it feeling moisturised. Be careful not to use too much of the product. One pump is enought for your whole face. More than that and your face might end up looking oily.
I left it for 5 minutes to let it absorbed if I were to apply makeup afterwards. I tried applying concealer under my eyes and I think the concealer glided on more smoothly because of this Olay cream! Sunscreen + makeup base in one product! <3
The product claims to fight 7 signs of ageing (fine lines and wrinkles, uneven tones, age spots, uneven texture, dryness, dullness, pores). Using it for a week I can say it does fight dryness and uneven textures. However, I am not able to say anything about the other 5 because it might take more than a week to see if it does do all that.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Isopropyl Isostearate, Octocrylene, Panthenol, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid, Polyacrylamide, Triethanolamine, Stearyl Alcohol, Tocopheryl Acetate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Benzyl Alcohol, PTFE, Cetyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Behenyl Alcohol, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, Carbomer, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Laureth-7, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Glucoside, PEG-100 Stearate, Propylparaben, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Stearic Acid, Zinc Oxide, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Triethoxycaprylylsilane.
Looking at the ingredients I have to say that this product is really worth the price. For Rp 110.000,00 you can't expect high-end ingredients but having Niacinamide on the third of the list is really good because Niacinamide does even out skin tone for each use. It is free from fragrance too so people with sensitive skin should not worry to try this out! Oh and although it's fragrance-free, the smell is not disgusting. It's really mild and nice too.
I really recommend this product for those who don't stay outside too much but for you who take public transportation or biking, please use sunscreen with higher SPF.
