REVIEW Sunday Riley's Good Genes
Have you guys heard all the hype about this product? I was super excited when I got this serum I couldn't believe it! It was out of stock for months in Mecca Maxima. But then Faiz gave me this for my birthday! KYAAA!!
I had high expectation for Good Genes, due to all the hype, and fortunately, Good Genes does not let me down. :D
This is how the bottle looks like. The bottle is made of glass so it's very sturdy. The cap can be locked by twisting it to left so it's safe, the liquid won't leak unless you forget to lock the cap.
The price of this product is relatively high, it's Rp 1.600.000,00. But believe me, it's worth it.
It's fragrance free but don't be surprised because you'll find a citrusy, lemongrass-like scent when you use it. Many people find it unpleasant, but not me. Hehe I enjoy the scent, to be honest.
From the direction it says massage 2-3 pums of the product but from my experience (maybe it's because I have a considerably small face), I only need 1 full pump of the product.

NV-5 Ageless Complex (Opuntia Tuna Fruit (Prickly Pear) Extract, Cyripeedium Pubescens (Lady’s Slipper Orchid) Extract, Opuntia Tuna Fruit, Opuntia Vulgaris (Cactus) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract & Saccharomyces Cerevisiae (Yeast) Extract), Lactic Acid, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Butylene Glycol, Squalene, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, PPG-12/SMDI Copolymer, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol and Ceteareth 20, Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-100 Stearate, Arnica Extract, PEG-75 Meadowsol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Extract, Lemongrass Extract, Triethanolamine, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Steareth-20, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, DMDM Hydantoin.
All the extracts are put first, meaning that the product contains most of the extracts. Which is why I said the high price is worth it.
You actually pay for the main substances, unlike most drugstore products that say the product contains pearl powder but then when you check the ingredients list, the pearl powder was written on the bottom of the list (BLEHHH)

The texture is lotion-like. When you massage it on your skin, it is not immediately absorbed and when the product is finally absorbed it would look like your face gets greasy, but worry not, go to sleep, and the next morning you'll find your skin glowing and so soft I couldn't believe how healthy-looking my skin can get with this!
One important thing I have to tell you is that Good Genes contains the proven AHA ingredient lactic acid, which acts as an exfoliant. You don't want to exfoliate in the morning because your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight. Therefore, I suggest using this product at night, after toner, before going to sleep, and then wait for an amazing result the next morning :D
